I became a [Re]Builder after being inspired by the activities at a [Re]Building event. There were approximately 40 volunteers (aka [Re]Builders) rehabbing the interior home of a Native American Veteran so he could move around safely in his wheelchair. The crew also beautified the outside of the home by painting the house and installing an easy-care landscape. The homeowner was so touched by the meaningful work and the [Re]Builders were proud to help this family. Rebuilding Together is an organization I want to be a part of.
I chose to be a Rebuilder because: I met the incredible people who brought Rebuilding Together to Northern Nevada and found out I shared in their passion to relieve the basic causes of suffering and provide the basic causes of happiness to the neighbors and communities we serve. And to do this, all you have to do is show up and care. I love my job.
